PURPOSE: To provide a rolling mill which can produce a rolled plate having a good sectional shape by providing journal boxe for supporting which can be shifted integrally with work roll and journal box which is fixed in position and is used exclusively for bending, thereby increasing the bending load and effect of the work rolls.

CONSTITUTION: Work rolls 1, 2 which are supported by backup rolls 7, 8 provided with journal boxes 9, 10 for upper and lower backup rolls, are provided with journal boxes 3, 4 for supporting upper and lower work rolls which have the function to support the work rolls 1, 2, to shift the same integrally in the axial direction of the rolls and to position the work rolls 1, 2 in the axial line direction thereof and in the longitudinal direction of the rolled plate and the function to give the roll balancing load thereto, as well as journal boxes 5, 6 to be used exclusively for bending the work rolls which are mounted with the rolls 1, 2 but are positioned in the axial line direction of the rolls irrespectively of the shifting thereof and can apply the load for bending the work rolls 1, 2 on said work rolls 1, 2 for the purpose of controlling the shape when driven by hydraulic pistons 31, 32, 33.
