PURPOSE: To facilitate the change of reduction of area by coupling vertical drive shaft and horizontal drive shaft with a bevel gear to drive rolling rolls with an arbitrary drive shaft on one side, and making it possible to change over with the gear reduction ratios of two kinds, high and low.

CONSTITUTION: Vertical drive shaft 1 and horizontal drive shaft 2 are mounted by bearings on a stand frame. Both drive shafts 1 and 2 are coupled by bevel gear 3A and 3B. And, the rolling roll stand is set so that rolling rolls 4A, 4B and 5A, 5B can be driven when input is performed to an arbitrary drive shaft 1 or 2. Vertical rolling rolls 4A, 4B and horizontal rolling rolls 5A, 5B are attachably and detachably mounted respectively on the stand frame through chocks. Since they are mounted through chocks, the replacements of the rolls 4A and 5A are easy. For rolling to be performed by handing over a material to be rolled from the vertical rolling rolls 4A, 4B to the horizontal rolling rolls 5A, 5B, reduction of area can be easily changed by changing the combination of reduction gears.
