To provide a roof structure for a vehicle body in which the weight of a roof part and the number of welded parts can be reduced.
A side roof cross bow 41 is provided between a side roof rail 20 comprising an angle pipe and a roof bow 40. The side roof cross bow 41 has a cross bow body 50 of a hat-like cross section and a reinforcement plate 51 joined to a lower surface side of the cross bow body 50, and forms a closed cross section structure. The side roof cross bow 41 forms a fan-like shape such that width in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle body is enlarged from an upper part toward a lower part. The side roof cross bow 41 is bonded to the roof bow 40 by fitting/welding an insertion part 60 formed on the upper part of the side roof cross bow 41 to an opening end 45 of the roof bow 40. A lower edge 50d of the side roof cross bow 41 is bonded to the side roof rail 20 by abutting/welding the lower edge 50d of the side roof cross bow 41 to an upper surface 20b of the side roof rail 20.
