PURPOSE: To automate root-switching in a conveying device for sewing by providing a branch unit and a convergence unit respectively consisting of a straight advance rail and a sub-rail between a main rail and an introducing rail/a carrying-out rail, and making it possible for a hanger to move in the direction of crossing the straight-advance rail at right angles.
CONSTITUTION: For example, when a hanger 15 is advanced straight, a switch (not shown) for straight advance is turned on. The hanger 15 is moved from an introducing rail 1 to a lift-rail 2 and stopped. It is confirmed that a straight- advance rail 4 connects an intermediate rail 3 to a main rail 6. If the intermediate rail is not connected to the main rail, a moving base is moved to connect them to each other to lift a lift-rail 2 and to slide the hanger 15 by its own weight and to move it to rails 3, 4 and 6. When the hanger is moved to a branch rail, a branch-switch is operated to connect the branch rail 5 to a sub- rail 7. When the hanger is carried out, a convergence unit U2 is similarly operated. Root-switching can thus be automated.
