PURPOSE: To provide a rope connecting tool by which fastening and releasing of a hoisting rope of a crane can be carried out easily and safely.

CONSTITUTION: An insertion use wedge hole part for a rope socket 7 is formed of mutually opposing first divided wedge hole part constituting body 7A and second divided wedge hole part constituting body 7B, and flanges (f) arranged in both the divided wedge hole part constituting bodies 7A and 7B are connected to each other by means of plural number of bolts 9 and nuts 11. A wedge piece 6 winding a hoisting rope 2 around itself is inserted into the insertion use wedge hole for the rope socket 7, and the hoisting rope 2 is fastened by means of a wedge effect. When the hoisting rope 2 and the wedge piece 6 are pulled out, a space is created between both the divided wedge hole part constituting bodies 7A and 7B by loosening the nuts 10 and the bolts 9, so that the wedge effect is eliminated.
