Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a rope type safety suspension lowering unit not exposing a human life to a danger even when the inserting direction of a rope is incorrect in the suspension lowering unit.
CONSTITUTION: This suspension lowering unit 10 is provided with a first flange 14 for supporting a pulley 16 and a pad 26 and an auxiliary braking lever 34 fitted to be pivotally moved near the pulley 16 within the prescribed limit. The auxiliary braking lever 34 is pivotally moved between the nonoperational unlock position where a rope 12 is wound in a first direction in a passage space and the operational lock position where the obstruction face of the auxiliary braking lever 34 presses the rope 12 to the pulley 16. The auxiliary braking lever 34 is pivotally moved to the operational lock position automatically when the rope 12 is incorrectly wound in a second direction opposite to the first direction and a load is applied to the suspension lowering unit 10 and tension exists on the rope 12.
