When the rotary brush 7 is assembled, at first brush bases 26 are fitted in respective grooves 21B in a rotary pipe 21 so as to have an alternate directions. A pulley 16 is attached from one end of the rotary pipe 21 and a holder 22 is attached from the other end of the rotary pipe 21. The lengthwise positions of the brush bases 26 are thus fixed by positioning projections 33 of the pulley 16 and positioning projections 39 of the holder 22 to prevent the rotating trajectory of the brush bundle 28 of one brush base 26 from overlapping with the rotating trajectory of another brush base 26.
