PURPOSE: To provide a rotating electric apparatus such as an induction motor, wherein the sufficient improvement of cooling performance is readily obtained regardless of the presence of a terminal box.
CONSTITUTION: An upper side surface part 13a and a lower side surface part 3b of a terminal box 13 are formed as the curved surfaces, which are made to recess toward the inside of the terminal box 13. Thus the flow path of air in the approximately tubular shape is formed in the axial direction between neighboring radiation fins 12. In this way, of cooling air flowing from the right to the left, the cooling airy which flows into the flow path as shown by an arrow D, flows in the state, wherein the cooling air is approximately confined in the flow path. Therefore, the escape of the cooling air as shown by an arrow from the opening part of the flow path t is sufficiently suppressed regardless of the presence of the terminal box 13. As a result, the high cooling capability is obtained, and thus the compact configuration can be readily achieved.
