Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection device and a detection method of a rotary encoder capable of improving detection accuracy of a rotational operation.SOLUTION: The detection device includes a rotary encoder 43 for outputting two output pulses having different phases according to the rotation of a rotary operation element 42. An operation detecting unit 34 functions as a pulse detecting unit that detects two output pulses. Further, a UI control unit 35 acquires a time difference between the two output pulses on the basis of the detection result of the operation detecting unit 34, and, when the time difference is within a set time, the output pulses are used for detecting rotation operation. If the time difference is outside the set time, the output pulses are not used for detecting rotation operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
