Abstract:
PURPOSE:To slow the operating speed of a synchronization detecting means and to use an inexpensive CMOS IC having small power consumption by executing time base expanding processing for the reproduced data of a digital signal and inputting the processed reproduced data to the synchronization detecting means as the data of a low bit rate. CONSTITUTION:After the reproduced data of a digital signal 10 recorded on one part of a helical track are serial/parallel converted, the converted reproduced data are written to a storing circuit 14, the contents of the storing circuit 14 are read at a speed lower than that at the time of writing, parallel/serial converted, time-base-expanding-processed, and guided to a synchronizing code detecting means 22 by using the non-reproductive period of the digital signal. Thus, the operating speed of the synchronization detecting means can be slowed compared with the recording and reproducing bit rate of the digital signal, and the synchronization detecting means can be composed of the inexpensive CMOS IC having the small power consumption.
