Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a rotary motion input method in a three-dimensional 6 degree-of-freedom pointing device capable of inputting optional rotary motion in a three-dimensional space with a finger touching operation.
CONSTITUTION: In the three-dimensional 6 degree-of-freedom pointing device for which a sensor 1 for detecting contact is arranged on a spherical or cylindrical surface and the input of a position and a posture is performed by touching the surface, the movement of the contact position of a point on the surface is detected by the sensor 1 and the motion is converted into a rotary momentum by a rotary momentum conversion method 2 and outputted to a computer 3.
