Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary press which is equipped with a plurality of printing units and which enables the adjustment of the printing pitch lengths of all the printing units, and a method for adjusting the printing pitch length of the rotary press.
SOLUTION: This rotary press is equipped with: the plurality of printing units 21-26; a plurality of register mark detectors 151-156 which are provided in the respective printing units so as to detect a register mark printed by a plate cylinder of the printing unit; a printing pitch length measuring means for measuring the printing pitch length between detection signals which are output from the respective register mark detectors; a determination means for determining whether or not the measured printing pitch length of each of the printing units falls within tolerance of a specified printing pitch length; and a printing-pitch-length variable means for changing the speed of the plate-cylinder driving motor of the printing unit, when it is determined that the measured printing pitch length of any one of the printing units goes out of the tolerance of the specified printing pitch length.
