To provide a rotary printing machine capable of stably performing printing over the whole velocity regions from the low speed to the high speed while the quality of printing is kept even when rigidity is decreased as a printing plate cylinder turns into an elongated cylinder.
The rotary printing machine has a blanket cylinder 21 and a plate cylinder 23. In this rotary printing machine, the plate cylinder 23 has a plate cylinder body 30, a machine plate 31 wound on the outer periphery of the plate cylinder body 30, a machine plate inserting channel 32 formed on the outer peripheral face of the plate cylinder body 30 along the axial direction of the plate cylinder body 30. The blanket cylinder 21 has a blanket cylinder body 70, a blanket 71 wound on the outer periphery of the blanket cylinder body 70, and a blanket inserting channel 72 formed on the outer peripheral face of the blanket cylinder body 70 along the axial direction of the blanket cylinder body 70. The width of an opening of the channel of the machine plate inserting channel 32 and the width of an opening of the channel of the blanket inserting channel 72 are made small as much as possible.
