PURPOSE: To prolong the life of an endless belt without harming the surface thereof by a method wherein a scraper is provided at the side of the moving direction of the endless belt near the position of a contacting point at the retreating side of the belt in a supporting roller arranged at the outlet part of the winding range of the endless belt.
CONSTITUTION: When materials to be processed go out of the winding range of an endless belt 6, the materials are separated from the surface of a cylindrical body 1 and are dropped into a crusher 7. In this case, the materials to be processed, which are adhered to the endless belt 6, are scraped down by a scraper 11, provided between the contacting position P and the position of a point Q at the retreating side of the belt in a supporting roller 8a arranged at the outlet part of the winding range of the belt. When fine granules of the materials to be processed, which are processed by the crusher 7, are clogged in a fine gap between the tip end of the scraper 11 and the surface of the endless belt 6, the granules pass through the fine gap without being rubbed strongly against the endless belt 6 since the part of the endless belt, which is opposed to the tip end of the scraper, is deviated from the contacting area with the supporting roller 8a. As a result, the surface of the endless belt can be prevented from harming.
