To provide a rotary electric machine capable of being fixed in a radial direction with a simpler structure with respect to a casing and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine includes: a rotor; a cylindrical casing; a bearing; a bearing holder; and a press-fit ring. The rotor has a rotary shaft that rotates around one axis. The cylindrical casing has a stepped portion including: a bottom; and a first support surface, provided between the bottom and an opening facing the bottom, facing the opening. The bearing holder includes: a first surface that contacts the first support surface; a second surface opposite to the first surface; a plurality of protrusions provided on the second surface and projecting in the one axis direction; and a holding portion for holding the bearing. The press-fit ring has an outer peripheral surface press-fitted into the casing and a second support surface which abuts on the second surface and into which the plurality of protrusions bite.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
