Abstract:
To improve durability.SOLUTION: In a rotation detection apparatus 10, rack teeth 22 (a first rack tooth 22A and a second rack tooth 22B) meshing with driven gears 32A and 32B are not formed on the entire circumference of an operation knob 20. Therefore, when the operation knob 20 rotates, the driven gears 32A and 32B do not continuously rotate but intermittently rotate. Accordingly, wear of the driven gears 32A and 32B can be reduced. Therefore, durability of the driven gears 32A and 32B and encoders 40A and 40B can be improved. In addition, at all of the rotation positions of the operation knob 20, at least one of the driven gears 32A and 32B is disposed to face the first rack tooth 22A or the second rack tooth 22B. As a result, even if the rack teeth 22 are not formed on the entire circumference of an inner circumferential portion of the operation knob 20, since at least one of the driven gears 32A and 32B rotates in conjunction with the rotation of the operation knob 20, the rotation of the operation knob 20 can be detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
