Abstract:
To prevent trail of an engagement element when a rotation transmission device idles at high speed.SOLUTION: A pair of sprags 3, 4 are provided between an inner engagement surface 1a of an inner member 1 and an outer engagement surface 2a of an outer member 2. The sprags 3, 4 can be oscillated between a neutral position at which the sprags cannot contact the outer engagement surface 2a and an engagement standby position at which the sprags contacts the outer engagement surface 2a, and the sprags are urged to the engagement standby position by an elastic member 5. A holding part 6 having a pillar 6a on one side of a peripheral direction with respect to the sprags 3, 4 is provided movably and rotatably in an axial direction with respect to the inner member 1. In contrast, a holding part 7 having a pillar 7a on the other side of a peripheral direction is provided rotatably with respect to the inner member 1. An axial movement of the holding part 6 integrally with an armature 9 that sucks by an electromagnet 11 is converted to a rotational movement of the holding parts 6, 7 by a cam mechanism 12. During electric conduction to the electromagnet 11, the pillars 6a, 7a respectively enter into recesses 3c, 4c of the sprags 3, 4 so as to restrict outward movement of the sprags 3, 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
