Abstract:
PURPOSE:To detect the angle of rotation of a rotary shaft over an entire circumference by setting the area of the parts where a projection part for detection and a magnetic circuit constitution part in each group are faced with each other so that the area is increased or decreased in specific relation as the rotary shaft is rotated. CONSTITUTION:A rotational angle detection part 5a detects the angle theta of rotation of the rotary shaft 1 by projection parts 9a1 and 9a2 from zero to piand by projection parts 9a3 and 9a4 from pi to 2pi. When the angle theta, however, is almost zero, pi, or 2pi, the facing area between a magnetic body piece 3 and the projection parts 9a1 - 9a4 is varied greatly, so the value of a detected voltage is also varied and a discontinuous point is generated in the detection area. For the purpose, the detection projection parts 9b1 - 9b4 of a rotational angle detection part 5b are disposed by shifting from the projection parts 9a1 - 9a4 by an angle pi/2 in terms of rotation, so a rotational angle area which becomes the detection discontinuous point of the detection part 5a can be covered. The angle theta of rotation of the rotary shaft 1 can accurately be detected over the entire circumference.
