PURPOSE: To make a structure in an axial line direction compact in a rotational speed sensor and to form a high output signal by a peculiar magnetic circuit.
CONSTITUTION: Magnetic communication is obtained between first and second radius direction parts 28, 30 by annular stators 24, 26. An apparatus wherein teeth 32 and slots 31 separated in a circumferential direction and arranged in a radius direction are formed to the inner surfaces of the stators 24, 26 and a rotational speed is detected in relation to the corresponding teeth 34 and slots 33 formed to a rotor 36 is formed. Magnetic flux for a sensor 10 is obtained by an annular magnet 38 equipped with a pole in an axial line direction. A sealed detection coil 40 is constituted of single multiple winding oriented so that the linear axial lines of the assembled sensor coincide with each other and lead wires 16 are connected to a signal processing unit (not shown in a drawing) from both terminals of the coil 40.
