Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a rotor blade that minimizes the rock.

CONSTITUTION: A rotor blade 20 that is axially loaded in slot 14 of a gas turbine engine rotor 8, particularly suited for used on a turbine disk 10, is provided. The rotor blade 20 has a generally axially extending dovetail root 30, and the dovetail root 30 is loaded into a rotor disk slot 14 between an adjacent rotor disk post 16. Anti-rock tangs 34 are disposed axially outward of the root, tangentially extend from a shank 28 and are generally linear in the axial direction. The anti-rock tangs 34 are engaged with an axially outward facing surface 36 of the adjacent dovetail post 16 between which the associated dovetail slot 14 is disposed.
