To solve a problem of increasing a chip loading recess in durability without using a rotor totally formed of plastic or a conventional rotor totally formed of zirconia.
In a rotor 1 disposed in a chip separating transfer device A, an insert part 4 formed of hard material such as zirconia differing from that of a rotor main body 2 and having excellent antifriction properties is formed into the shape of a chip recess 3 and its vicinity, and the insert part 4 is provided instead of only the chip recess 3 provided to the rotor 1. On the other hand, the rotor main body 2 is formed of light material such as plastic that is easily processed, and fitting recesses 5 corresponding to the above inserts 4 are provided on the circumferential part of the rotor main body 2 at regular intervals of a certain angle of circumference (e.g. circumference is divided in fifty equal parts), and the inserts 4 are each fitted into the fitting recesses 5 cut in the rotor main body 2.
