To provide a rotor which suppress reduction in manufacturing efficiency and performance deterioration in a motor and has less variation in performance, and to provide a method for manufacturing the rotor.
The rotor includes: end rings provided on both sides of laminated magnetic steel sheets; and conductor bars inserted in the shaft direction of these laminated magnetic steel sheets and the end rings. The conductor bar and the end ring are caulked by pressing the end ring from the outer peripheral side. A roller 10 is relatively rotated around the rotor while pressing the end ring from the other peripheral side using this roller 10 in this caulking process, thereby capable of caulking the outer peripheral part of the conductor bars scattered in the circumferential direction.
