Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the strength and the durability of seal grooves, as well as the contacting strength of the seal groove members to the rotor main body, by forming of a fiber-reinforced metal the seal groove members to be contacted to the tops of the rotor main body of an aluminum alloy.

CONSTITUTION: This rotor 10 consists of a rotor main body 12 of an aluminum alloy and seal groove members 16 to contact to the positions of apex seal grooves 14 to be formed at the tops of the main body 12. A seal groove member 16 is formed of an apex seal groove 14 and a corner seal groove 18 furnished at the both sides of the seal groove 14. In this case, the seal groove members 16 are formed of a fiber-reinforced metal using a short fiber, and the short fiber is made of one of verious fibers such as aluminum fiber, SiC fiber, boron fiber, and carbon fiber, Therefore, the contacting strength of the seal groove members 16 to the rotor main body 12 can be improved as well as the proper strength of the seal grooves can be improved.
