Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the vibrating noise and resonant sound of a squirrel-cage induction motor without lowering the operating efficiency thereof by providing open slots at approx. half of the total slots and the other slots as closed slots and alternatively arranging them. CONSTITUTION:The rotor 1 of a squirrel-cage induction motor has approx. half of open slots 2 of the total slots, and the other closed slots 3, which are alternatively arranged. Thus, by comparing with the motor having all open slots, it can reduce the vibrating torque, and by comparing with the motor having all closed slots, it can reduce the distribution power to as to generally reduce the magnetic noise and resonant sound and to increase the operating efficiency as compared with the motor having total closed slots. Accordingly, it is effective particularly to mount a motor limited in installing area such as a fan motor of an air conditioner.
