Metal slurry 10 in which a solid phase rate lies within the range of 30 to 60% is placed on a working table 20, the outside shape of the metal slurry 10 is worked by a tool 30A with knife shape and, if required, drilling is performed by a tool 30B with hollow tube shape or a drill. During the working, the metal slurry 10 is heat-insulated by the insulating function of the working table 20, thus the metal slurry 10 can be worked without being solidified. After the working, when the metal slurry 10 is cooled by natural aging or the like, the metal slurry 10 is solidified to obtain a roughly shaped material 50. Since a mold is not utilized, even if there occurs a need of a shape change or an adjustment, it can be coped with at a low cost in a short time. Further, it is convenient also for the forming of small quantity products, works of art, souvenirs or the like as well as trial pieces. Further, when the tool 30A and the tool 30B are fixed to robot hands 40A and 40B, and utilized, the reproducibility of the forming and the forming of complicated shape are made possible.
