Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a base tread capable of improving low fuel consumption property and fracture strength with good balance, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a rubber composition for a base tread containing a rubber component, silica and a silane coupling agent having a mercapto group, and the content of a conjugated diene polymer having the content of a monomer unit based on a vinyl compound obtained by reacting a ω-aminoalkyl alkoxysilane compound with a terminal of a conjugated diene polymer having a constitutional unit based on a conjugated diene and a constitutional unit based on a vinyl compound having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group, and having the nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group of 0.01 to 20 mass% based on 100 mass% of the total amount of the monomer unit in the conjugated diene polymer is 5 mass% or more in 100 mass% of the rubber component, and the content of the silica is 5 to 150 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the rubber component.
