Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a base tread capable of improving low fuel consumption property (reduction of rolling resistance of a tire), fracture strength and processability with good balance, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the same.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a rubber composition for a base tread containing a rubber component, silica and polyalkylene glycol having a branch structure, and the content of a modified diene polymer rubber reacted with a compound represented by the formula (1) is 5 mass% or more in 100 mass% of the rubber component, and the content of the polyalkylene glycol is 0.1 to 10 pts.mass.
