PURPOSE: To obtain a rubber composition having excellent extrusion moldability and vulcanizability, by kneading a vulcanized rubber compounding ingredient to an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer rubber having a bimodal molecular weight distribution and produced by the use of a specific catalyst component.
CONSTITUTION: The objective rubber composition can be produced by compounding (A) a vulcanized rubber compounding ingredient to (B) an ethylene-α-olefin(-nonconjugated diene) copolymer rubber having a bimodal molecular weight distribution characterized in that the content of the low- molecular weight component A is 10W50wt% (defined by the formula wherein W1 is the area of low molecular weight side; W2 is area of high molecular weight side) and a ratio of (weight-average molecular weight)/(number-average molecular weight) of 5W25, and produced by a single-stage polymerization process using a catalyst compound of (i) a reaction product of a vanadium compound (preferably vanadium oxytrichloride) and a secondary alcohol (preferably 3W12C aliphatic alcohol) and/or its metal salt and (ii) an organic aluminum compound.
