Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition with no blooming of its compounding agent, having a low hardness, and which is excellent in wear resistance and heat resistance and is also good in moldability so that, for example, when it is molded to a roller and is used as a rubber roller to send paper in an OA machine, an automatic teller machine(ATM) or the like, a big friction coefficient between the roller and the paper is obtained while the roller has an excellent wear resistance and does not exhibit any performance degradation even if it is left loaded at a high temperature such as during a transportation or the like.
SOLUTION: One hundred pts.wt. of a rubber and 100-300 pts.wt. of a hydrogenated styrene thermoplastic elastomer are blended. The rubber is dynamically crosslinked by a resin crosslinking to disperse the rubber into the hydrogenated styrene thermoplastic elastomer. The rubber preferably has an EPDM rubber as its main component and contains not less than 50 wt.% of an EPDM rubber. The hydrogenated styrene thermoplastic elastomer preferably has a hardness (JIS-A) of not more than 80 and an MFR (melt flow rate under 2.16 kg loading at 230°C by JIS K-6760) of not less than 10 g/10 min.
