PURPOSE: To provide the title compsn. having excellent frictional characteristics on wetted roads without lowering frictional characteristics on snowed or iced roads, consisting of a specified raw rubber, carbon black, a synthetic plasticizer, a petroleum softener and a natural rosin resin.

CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. at least one raw rubber (A) selected from the group consisting of natural, polyisoprene and diene rubbers is blended with 40W100pts. wt. carbon black (B), 2W35pts.wt. synthetic plasticizer (C) of formula I (wherein R is H, OH, methyl or a group of formula II; R' is a 3W21C hydrocarbon group and at least two R groups are always a group of formula II; and n is 0W2), 0W30pts.wt. petroleum softener (D) (e.g., paraffinic process oil) and 1W10pts.wt. natural rosin resin (E) (e.g., gum rosin).
