Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a thermoplastic resin compsn. which has an esp. excellent impact resistance and good heat resistance and processibility.

CONSTITUTION: A rubber-reinforced thermoplastic resin compsn. is obtd. by compounding a thermoplastic resin with a graft copolymer which is obtd. by grafting 85-15 pts.wt. monomer component comprising at least one monomer selected from among an arom. vinyl, a vinyl cyanide, and a methacrylic ester or a mixture of the monomer with other copolymerizable α, β-unsatd. monomers onto 15-85 pts.wt. rubber having increased particle sizes and an average particle size of 200nm or higher. The rubber is obtd. by adding, to 100 pts.-wt. (solid content) rubber latex having a pH of 7 or higher, 0. 1-15 pts.wt. (solid content) acidic latex which is obtd. by polymerizing a mixture comprising 1-30wt.% unsatd. acid, 99-1wt.% (meth)acrylic ester, and 0-30wt.% polymerizable ethylenically unsatd. monomer in such a manner that after the polymn. of 5-90wt.% of the mixture with a low content of the unsatd. acid, the residue of the mixture with a high content of the acid is polymerized.
