To provide a silica-containing masterbatch having an improved affinity between rubber molecules and silica, excellent abrasion resistance, and a high storage modulus (E'), to provide a method for producing the same, and to provide a rubber composition and a tire each using the same.

What is provided is: a method for producing a silica-containing rubber masterbatch comprising (A) dispersing in water silica surface-treated with 0.5 to 7 mass%, based on the weight of the silica, a compound represented by formula (I) at 100°C or higher to form slurry and (B) mixing the slurry with a rubber solution such as a latex; a rubber composition obtained by using the masterbatch; and a tire using the same. In formula (I), X is at least one member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, a phenyl group, an amino group, a mercapto group, and an alkyl group; 0≤m≤1,000; and 0≤n≤1,000.
