To provide a rubber-modified aromatic vinylic resin composition having good appearance characteristics, excellent impact strength and excellent practical properties; and to provide a method for producing the resin composition.
The rubber-modified aromatic vinylic resin composition is obtained by polymerizing an aromatic vinylic compound in the presence of a gummy polymer, and contains soft dispersed particles having 0.2-3.0 μm average particle diameter. The gummy polymer is a styrene-butadiene-based block copolymer, and has (1) >1.4 and <2.5 molecular weight distribution Mw/Mn represented by a ratio of a weight average molecular weight (Mw) to a number average molecular weight (Mn), and (2) (-85)-(-40)°C glass transition temperature. The method for producing the resin composition is also provided.
