To shorten a roll producing time to a large extent to enable cost reduction by using a resin mold and a metal mold to which a polishing pattern is faithfully transferred to form the same polishing pattern to respective obtained rubber rolls.
A rubber compsn. prepared according to a predetermined compounding recipe is formed into a sheet to be introduced into a mold for a roller and pressed and vulcanized to produce a paper feed rubber roller. Next, this rubber roller is attached to a core material and a polishing apparatus is used to produce a paper feed master roller having a polishing pattern on its surface. A release agent is applied to this polished master roller and the coated master roller is fixed and arranged to the central part in a form. Subsequently, a predetermined amt. of a metal powder-containing epoxy resin and a predetermined amt. of a curing agent are mixed and the resulting mixture is degassed to be injected into a form held under vacuum and heated to predetermined temp. to be primarily and secondarily cured. Thereafter, the polished master roller is taken out of the form to obtain a block-shaped resin mold of which the central part is hollowed out in a cylindrical shape.
