Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber roll having excellent wear resistance and good liquid-squeezing properties.
SOLUTION: This roll SU is composed of a metallic core 2 made of iron such as e.g. STKM-3A, S-35C, or the like and a rubber lamination layer 5 consisting of an inner rubber layer 3 that is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the metallic core 2 and an outer rubber layer 4 that is laminated on the outer peripheral surface of the inner rubber layer 3. The inner rubber layer 3 consists of a nitrile-butadiene rubber and is formed so as to have a layer thickness of t1 and the outer rubber layer 4 consists of a polyurethane rubber having a Shore-A hardness value within the range of 80 to 98 and is formed so as to have a layer thickness of t2. At this time, the Shore-A hardness value and/or layer thickness (t1) of the nitrile-butadiene rubber, and/or the layer thickness (t2) of the polyurethane rubber are appropriately set so as to provide an apparent modulus of the rubber lamination layer 5 as a whole, that is equivalent to a Shore-A hardness value within the range of 60 to 80. Thus, the objective rubber roll SU having both excellent wear resistance and superior liquid-squeezing properties can be realized.
