Title:
RUN-FLAT PNEUMATIC TIRE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3427351
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To insure uniform stress distribution or the like increasing run-flat performance by heightening hardness of a reinforcing side wall wedge on the outermost side in the radial direction, and providing a low hardness part on a reinforcing side wall wedge on the innermost side so as to gradually reduce hardness toward the inside direction.
SOLUTION: A side wall 20 is arranged between a tire bead 24 and a tire tread 12, and formed out of bead filler 28, a body ply 60, and respective side wall wedges 30-50. In this case, an upper side wall edge 30 is set into the highest hardness, the intermediate and lower respective side wall wedges 40, 50 are gradually lowered than this in the hardness. The maximum side sectional thickness of the upper side wall wedge 30 is generated at the point of about 75%-125% of the side wall length on the upper part of the tire bead. Further a transition point 4 is positioned in the range of about 10%-60% of the side wall length on the upper part of the tire bead 24.
