This drive detects, with rotational speed detection sensors 14, 15, the rotational speed of right and left driving wheels 2, 3 for driving a paving machine or the rotational speed of hydraulic motors driving the driving wheels respectively, and determines a relative difference between the rotational speeds. Based on the relative difference, the slipping or idle rotation of one of the driving wheels is determined and pressure oil is supplied to only the hydraulic motor driving the driving wheel on grip side.
