Title:
RUNWAY SHORTENING GROUND RUN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1199995
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten ground run required for taking off and landing of an aircraft by symmetrically providing one set or a plurality of set of blowers on forward both sides of a runway, setting the air blasting direction to be the opposite oblique direction against the running direction of the aircraft, and driving the blowers so as to gradually increase or decrease the wind force. SOLUTION: A pair of right and left blowers 4-1, 4-2 are provided on the ground forward in the running direction of a runway, so as to be in the X-1 direction and the Y-1 direction opposite to the running direction and a little obliquely. The two blowers are driven in the same wind force, and generated air flows 5-1, 5-2 are compounded on the center to form an airflow 6. An aircraft 3 runs for taking off against the wind, and the ground run is shortened by the portion of wind. When the wind force is gradually increased and the speed of the air flow 6 becomes over the taking off speed of the aircraft 3, the aircraft 3 can take off. At landing the wind force is gradually decreased so as to stop the aircraft 3. For further shortening the length of the runway, similarly blowers 7-1, 7-2 are provided so as to generate an air flow 9.
