PURPOSE: To provide a pressure relief valve which can be manufactured with certainty and relative efficiency, has a comparatively simple structure and can protect pump appliances and operators in case of overpressure.
CONSTITUTION: A pressure relief assembly is used at a paint pump having a pressurizing chamber and a pressure relief port extending from the pressurizing chamber to atmosphere. The pressure relief assembly is provided with an inlet end and an exit end which are formed so as to be detachably attached to the paint pump and are formed so as to be fluid-communicated with the pressure relief port when attached to the paint pump. Further, a mounting member 50, which has a relief passage extending between the inlet end and the exit end, and a rupture pad, which is formed so as to be detachably mounted by the mounting member within a range of the paint pump and forms a seal capable of being raptured between the pressure relief port and the atmosphere, are provided.
