Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sacrificial test piece capable of monitoring the stressed state of a structure in use.
SOLUTION: In a sacrificial test piece, a metal sheet sacrificial test piece main body 2 provided with an artificial crack at its longitudinal center part is sandwiched between two resin or metal sheets 3 each with a transversely extended slit-shaped through notch at the longitudinal center part and is adhered together, with the artificial crack of the sacrificial test piece main body 2 positioned at the center part of the slit-shaped through notch. By this, it becomes possible to implement the long-term simultaneous monitoring of stress on a large number of points of a structure and to utilize the sacrificial test piece for securing structural safety and improving structural design.
