Abstract:
To provide a saddle-riding type vehicle which avoids enlargement of a silencer in which a catalyst is housed, and can inhibit temperature rise of a sensor for detecting a state of exhaust gas that has passed through the catalyst.SOLUTION: A saddle-riding type vehicle includes: a silencer 23 disposed at the lateral side of a rear wheel; an upstream catalyst 55 housed in the silencer 23; and a downstream sensor 47 which detects a state of exhaust gas that has passed through the upstream catalyst 55. The silencer 23 includes: a support pipe 56 which supports the downstream sensor 47 and guides the exhaust gas that has passed through the upstream catalyst 55 to the downstream; and an external cylinder 62 enclosing the upstream catalyst 55 and the support pipe 56. A distance D1 from the upstream catalyst 55 to the downstream sensor 47 as seen in an axial direction Da of the upstream catalyst 55 is shorter than a length L1 of the upstream catalyst 55 as seen in the axial direction Da of the upstream catalyst 55. A cross sectional area of the support pipe 56 is larger than a cross sectional area of the upstream catalyst 55.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
