PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a saddle-stitch bookbinding apparatus and the like, which can automatically sort a defective printed sheet bundle by type.SOLUTION: In a saddle-stitch bookbinding apparatus S, a plurality of types of printed sheets 2a are sequentially fed onto a conveyance path 10, and a collated printed sheet bundle 2 is saddle-stitched so that a booklet 2A can be bound. Defectiveness of the collated printed sheet bundle 2 is determined. The printed sheet bundle 2 determined to be defective is separated into the respective printed sheets 2a. The respective separated printed sheets 2a are sorted by type.
