PURPOSE: To provide a safety device of elevator which allows an operator to easily check the car position when an outside opening device is in operation and which protects the operator against a hazard such as falling into the shaft.

CONSTITUTION: An outside opening device operation sensing signal G is closed when the operator turns on an outside opening device 1, and outside opening device working laps LU, LD installed over and under an elevator car are put on, which permits the operator to check the car position easily.
