PURPOSE: To reduce the damage of a person and an object by supporting a crossbar to a post by a connecting means, and providing the connecting means with a maintaining means and an electric connecting means for releasing the bar when force acts upon the bar in a safety device for inducing the stop of equipment in a ski lift or the like.

CONSTITUTION: This safety device has a post 2 erected on the ground by a connecting means comprising a plate 6 with a center pile, and piles 8, and a flexible cross bar 4 supported in a cantilever state to the upper part of the post 2 by a connecting means 5. The connecting means 5 has a support block 12 made of rubber and unmovably fitted to the post 2, and holding mechanism 14 supporting a lateral rod 15 with a hollowed-out part 15a to be fitted with the end part of the crossbar 4 therein, in a releasable state by the force of a spring 17 through a washer 16, is fixed onto the lateral front face 13 of the support block 12. The safety device also has two electric contacts 18 cutting off an electric circuit passing through the rod 15 when the rod 15 is released.
