Title:
安全装置
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP5165248
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
A safety device for raising the rear part of a hood or bonnet of a vehicle incorporates a plurality of inter-nested sleeves 9 - 12 and an extension element 13, which are spaced apart by O-rings 27 - 31. The O-rings are made of resilient material and effect a rolling movement when the parts of the safety device move relative to each other. Upon actuation, a gas generator supplies gas to the interior of the sleeves which extend telescopically. The resilient O-rings allow the safety device to raise the rear part of a hood or bonnet in an arcuate movement. The rolling movement of the O-rings enables the hood or bonnet to be rapidly lowered to prevent obstruction to the driver's vision. The safety device may also be used to tilt seats, extend bumpers, or retract steering columns.
