PURPOSE: To provide a safety net having high net strength and suitable for building work, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The safety net is knit with a knitting yarn of a synthetic fiber. The synthetic yarn is composed of a polyester containing ethylene terephthalate unit accounting for ≥90mol% of the total recurring unit and has an intrinsic viscosity of ≥0.7, a strength of ≥8.5g/d and an elongation of ≥12%. The surface of the fiber is coated with 0.3-1.0wt.% of an oil composed mainly of an aliphatic monohydric alcohol ester having a molecular weight of 550-750, exhibiting liquid state at normal temperature and containing 1-10wt.% of a reaction product of a dibasic acid component with an alkylene oxide adduct of a glyceride having hydroxyl group in the molecule.
