Abstract:
To provide a safety switching device, in particular for reliable switching-on of an electrical load.SOLUTION: During a starting process, functionality of, e.g., two not forcibly driven changeover switches (60, 70), particularly their normally closed contacts (63, 73), can be monitored without using a microcontroller. The normally closed contacts (63, 73) are arranged in respective separate diagnostic circuits (30, 31), which are connected in parallel with respect to a test voltage. The diagnostic circuits (30, 31) are each monitored by a diagnostic current detection device (40, 50). Excitation coils (61, 71) of the changeover switches (60, 70) can be short-circuited via respective short-circuit devices if diagnostic current continues to flow in the respective diagnostic circuits (30, 31) further for a predetermined time period after activation of a starting process.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1B
