PURPOSE: To enable polishing at an optional angle with good accuracy in a short time by equipping a current variable solenoid coil which gives the pressing load of a pressure fitting, and an angle adjusting mechanism which varies the inclination with the face having the abrasive grain of the pressure fitting.

CONSTITUTION: An angle adjusting mechanism which changes the inclinations in X and Y directions of a holder fitting 2 pressing a sample onto abrasive grains face, and a load adding mechanism which gives a pressing force to the pressure fitting 2 are provided. The load adding mechanism is equipped with a coil 7 giving a pressing force with the magnetic force to a rod 12 located at the other end of the holder fitting 2, and a power source which can decide the current flowed by a set button 7' to this coil 7. Also this holder fitting 2 is equipped with a spring 9 for pushing up the rod 12 because of this holder fitting 2 pushing up upward at all times. Polishing can thus be executed with good accuracy in a short time, at an optional angle.
