Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sample width reading channel which makes it possible to prevent aliasing noise without using a programmable filter by recovering the timing without waiting time without crosstalk due to the frequency of a write variable frequency oscillator.
SOLUTION: The analog read signal 19 from a magnetic read head disposed in a magnetic disk unit is sampled asynchronously by a sampling unit 24 for responding to a sampling block 55, and the sampled value is equalized by a discrete equalizer filter 26. The equalized sampled value 32 is interpolated by an interpolating timing recovery circuit B100 to generate an interpolated sampled value B102. Embedded servo data is detected from the value B102 by using a discrete time sequence detector 34 and discrete time pulse detector 70.
