The sand pumping apparatus 11 includes: grit suction pipes 12 disposed to each of the plurality of grit pits; a grit storage tank 14 to which the plurality of grit suction pipes are connected in parallel through suction valves 13; an ejector 22 that suctions a fluid in the grit storage tank and discharges; a pressure pump 18 that feeds water with pressure to the ejector and the grit storage tank; an ejector driving water supply passage 26 which connects the pressure pump and the ejector through an ejector operating valve 25; a sand washout water supply passage 16 that connects the pressure pump and the grit storage tank through a sand washout water supply valve 15; and a grit discharge passage 20 that discharges grit in the grit storage tank through a sand washout valve 19.
